What is Web3?

Web3, short for Web 3.0, is the next evolution of the internet, building on top of the existing infrastructure of the internet (Web 1.0) and the social web (Web 2.0).

Web3 is often associated with blockchain technology, which provides a decentralized and secure way to store and transfer data and assets. In the context of Web3, blockchain technology is used to create decentralized applications (dApps) that are built on top of a decentralized network.

Web3 also includes other emerging technologies such as decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), which aim to create new ways of organizing and managing digital assets and communities.

Overall, the goal of Web3 is to create a more open, transparent, and user-centric internet that empowers individuals and communities, rather than relying on centralized intermediaries and corporations.
