What is Web3?

Web3, short for Web 3.0, is the next evolution of the internet, building on top of the existing infrastructure of the internet (Web 1.0) and the social web (Web 2.0).

 

Web3 is often associated with blockchain technology, which provides a decentralized and secure way to store and transfer data and assets. In the context of Web3, blockchain technology is used to create decentralized applications (dApps) that are built on top of a decentralized network.

 

What is an NFT?

NFTs are tokens that we can use to represent ownership of unique items. They let us tokenize things like art, collectibles, even real estate. Ownership of an asset is secured by the Ethereum and other blockchains – no one can modify the record of ownership or copy/paste a new NFT into existence.

 

NFT stands for non-fungible token. Non-fungible is an economic term that you could use to describe things like your furniture, a song file, or your computer. These things are not interchangeable for other items because they have unique properties.
